We got the Pfizer but had no choice any way ...
I'm somewhat concerned, too, as I'm in the 65+ age group, and just got the first shot, yesterday. FWIW, my wife and I got the Mederna (spelling?), and in our case, that's what the pharmacy had, so that's what we got. In all honesty, I was sort of hoping for the J&J, as it's a "one shot deal"......

Got my first shot at Stony Brook this week. Huge kudos to the National Guard and everyone working there. Only wait was in my car getting to parking. Once I walked in the door the shot was in my arm in about two minutes. Fantastic job!

Lucky I woke up at 4am this morning. The web site for the local paper had an article about a pop up local vaccination spot, and I got the last appointment. The new rule for age 60 and above in NY starts today. This is in Peconic.

More than likely around May, or June.

The answer is to be determined. If they had the vaccine you could probably get it tomorrow, and that is the problem, they have no idea when the supply will actually become available. Since they just opened it today for 60 - 65, I would say it will be a while based upon current availability.

Ugh thanks. This essential vs non-essential shpoopie really pisses me off. If it provides food for you & your family, it’s essential. I feel like we’re putting certain jobs over others. I need to feed my family ... i’m essential

Arrrrgh

I'm essential and went to get a vaccine last Sat, they didn't check anyone for proof. They just asked for your name, appointment time and checked you off the list. Someone had an appointment 4 hours later and they let him get a shot. Someone said they called Nassau Department of Health and they were told to come in any time to take the shot. They were not essential. Not sure if they had a lot of vaccines going bad soon but the entire process took 40 mins. Got a card with a date for the next appointment in 28 days.

YMMV. You could get rejected if you randomly go in.

Amazing we live in a state where one man can determine whether you are essential or not. But that's what the people want.

Def. YMMV. They checked both mine and my wife's work ID's.
