I am glad 50 and up are next I am in that category. The stop and shop in East Islip has the vaccine so I have to see if I can get an appointment. I am in no rush but would like to get it.
I would imagine part of why it's easier to access the available appointments now are people like me... I'm going for my first dose tomorrow, with an appointment made almost 3 months ago when they were nearly impossible to reserve. It gets to a certain point where it's close enough to the date that there is no point in trying to go a few days early

I hear you!!
I was in the same position as you are, as my "age bracket", 65+, became eligible in mid-January of 2021. I was able to get a pair of appointments for my wife and I, at the same time frame and same location, but they weren't until March 28, 3 days from now.
About 3 and a half weeks ago, I was looking for a cleaning item that I couldn't find at my local Wegmans, and a friend suggested I try Tops Markets. The Tops stores aren't all that close, so I thought I'd try their website, first, rather than just randomly drive to their stores.
I logged on to the Tops site, and the site mentioned that their pharmacy departments were beginning to administer the shots. Just for grins, I checked availability, and almost passed out....I was able to get an appointment there, 3 days from the day I was on their site. That was 3 weeks ago, and our second shots are scheduled for a week from this coming Saturday.
