The schools just did a last min 180 degree spin! They are now back to requiring masks in class and on busses! I guess now they are not following CDC guidelines?
And now you wonder why everyone is sick of this crap!!
Had a meeting with our school superintendent this morning. It was the state that did not officially tell the schools what to do.
The media ran with a leaked story about the possibility of schools going to no masks as gospel truth.
Individual districts do not have the power to unilaterally change the rules on covid. That all comes from the department of health and executive orders.
The state DOH is supposed to meet this afternoon and notify the districts what changes, if any, will be done.
If the above doesn't sum up the clusterf*ck that is government, at every level, I don't know what does. But you're supposed to trust the government right?
New York students will no longer be required to wear masks outdoors on school grounds, but they will still have to wear them indoors, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Monday.

Don’t worry there will likely be several more spins before September.
^ He wants NY state to be @ 70% vaccinated. Not going to happen. Meanwhile states such as Georgia are like 40%, fully open with less cases than Ny. Same shlit different week. The goalposts just keep moving and moving.

Agree, we are at about 48%, which baffles me. But Cuomo still feels the need to dictate. He seriously is a moron.

Seriously.
Think about high schoolers. They have to wear a mask in school. Leave campus for lunch where no place is requiring a mask. Back to school back to the mask. After school and weekends they are out and about with no masks. The educational complex must be both the most FEARFUL and FEAR MONGERING ever in history.
Every student who does not want to wear a mask should show up with no mask. Let the school send home over half of the students. They will lose state aid for each absence. NY sucks in every way.

Like Roc said stop moving the damn goalposts.
Cuomo's statement was pure idiocy. My district and one I do work for both had parents go ape-shizz over it. On Friday, both Supt's sent confusing messages saying we'll do what it says, but it says we still have to wait for CDC guidance (which did not come). So why the hell did Randy Andy think a premature bomb message would be a good idea? Both districts now have emergency board meetings so parents can come scream about their snowflake tyranny of wearing masks, OR the snowflake selfishness of not wearing masks. The civil war of American pettiness and snowflake appropriation continues. From both sides.
Maybe it's just me and my family, but masks as a thing are one of the least pressing problems in our life. Good to be blessed with rational thinking...and real problems.
