and then there's this:

Quote:
California accounted for nearly three out of every four nonfarm jobs created in the U.S. during February, according to data released Friday.

Employers in the state added 14,600 nonfarm payroll jobs last month, the California Employment Development Department reported Friday. Earlier this month, the U.S. government reported nonfarm payrolls in the U.S. rose by just 20,000 jobs in February, or the weakest national showing since September 2017.

“Whatever caused the nation as a whole to have a subpar job gain didn’t have as much influence in California in February,” said Aubrey Henry, a spokesman for the state’s EDD agency.

Even so, Henry said California’s February job gain was below trend for the state in terms of its average for the entire nine-year expansion. California — the fifth-largest economy in the world — has added more than 3.13 million jobs since the economic expansion began in February 2010.

More than 7 in 10 respondents cited the high cost of housing and living, traffic congestion and homelessness as the region’s top problems.

Roughly 80 percent of respondents in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Mateo counties called traffic a serious problem. About three-quarters of respondents in Santa Clara County and 70 percent in San Francisco County agreed.

“We’ve tried to put down roots,” Ruzon said. “It’s been very difficult to put down deep roots.”

They didn't even mention the feces all over many of the streets of SF and the needles you have to be careful not to step on.

Thanks for my pension though.
Been reading through some of this thread and your remarks. What I don’t get is why you care if people want to leave the Bay Area. You want to leave. So go. End of story. Why is it important to you to make a case for others?

Personally, I care about people wanting to leave ... because I WANT people to leave. I hope millions leave ... in droves. Problem is: the place keeps gaining population even though so many say they want to leave.

I hope you go to Phoenix or wherever and find everything you dream of in a new home. Just go. Why linger wasting your time yammering about it. Sounds like the old sour grapes Aesop fable.

Exactly. Not to mention the constant "I've got mine, Jack" remarks.

They wouldn't be Republicans if they weren't self-centered hypocrites.

Why is it so painful for you to say something positive about the state you live in?

Here you are...still here in California, still sucking up our oxygen.

So how much is the state paying you as an in-home service aid to your parent?

I don't even know what a in home service aid is. My dad doesn't live with me. Most of the reason I'm still here is to run the family business he started. It's hard to for me to say positive things because I know what it's like to run and try to survive here with a business. I wish I was getting aid from the state but me being middle class all my money's going out to pay for everybody else's great life including Burkmere so hope he appreciates it and buys me lunch when I get to AZ.

Californians cant possibly fathom others happiness because it threatens and invalidates their illusion of elitism
