Why is it so painful for you to read about people happy in other states??
Finper, here’s a challenge for you: go back through my near 12,000 posts and find even 1 where I have indicated pain at hearing about others’ pleasure outside California. You know, one of the markers of my postings on the subject of leaving California is that I encourage people to leave and wish them well. I acknowledged just a few posts back, in fact, that I know there is beauty and good qualities in all states. Poster Burkmere himself agreed with my statement. I have encouraged you to leave asap as well and never criticized you for wanting to. What I criticize in your posts and all other similar complainant posts are: factual misrepresentations. Period.

As for the topic and what I asked poster Burkmere to explain: I didn’t ask why he was leaving ... I asked him why he felt it important to try to convince readers of his position. He has rambled on and on and on and on with excoriations and ridicule about California. I ask what good is that? Why is that important to him?

Get it now, Finper?

Personally, I care about people wanting to leave ... because I WANT people to leave. I hope millions leave ... in droves. Problem is: the place keeps gaining population even though so many say they want to leave.

I hope you go to Phoenix or wherever and find everything you dream of in a new home. Just go. Why linger wasting your time yammering about it. Sounds like the old sour grapes Aesop fable.
Oh, I've been in Paradise Valley since October permanently. Thanks. If I were you, I wouldn't want people to leave in droves. Apparently you don't realize your taxes will go up even farther than Gavin plans on raising them now if that happens.

I'm just trying to warn folks. It's my civic duty. Mostly it's just an observation. Stay! I need people there to pay my Ca pensions!!

True, there is beauty in all states, and lots of it in CA.

If it’s as bad and dire as you say, why do you feel others can’t see it for themselves? What’s so remarkable about Burkmere that others need him to illuminate the California situation?

I’m a retired military pensioner living on base in a boat. And a minimalist. No real property. I have no downside to people leaving in droves. Thanks for your exodus.

Burkmere has never stated a factual misrepresentation. He just posted a article. If it's wrong it on the person who wrote the article.

People that are replying on this topic are replying to all the toxic people who bash every other state because it's not CA. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. If it bugs you so much don't read it.

Again Finper, you fail to comprehend what I wrote. I never said Burkmere misstated anything. I asked why he feels he should be trying so damn hard to convince others of the evils of the state of California.

I didn’t defend California.

I didn’t criticize other states.

I didn’t criticize others leaving California.

I didn’t even criticize the article.

If what I write in exchange with Burkmere bugs you so much, don’t read my posts ... lmfao.

Oh lord...that worn-out trope again???

Never "mooched" a day in my life, dear.

I've got some Republican cousins in Arizona, though, who've used SNAP, EBT and the free lunch program.

And they hate my side of the family because my mom married a brown man and had brown kids who are pretty successful.

#Racism_sucks!

Yeah, you're so "self-made" that you took a job with a government agency and now you're using a government program (Medicare).

Who's the "hypocrite" here ??? Seriously?

The irony sort of wears off when you see it over-and-over-and-over again...

They're all Big Cowboys and Big Cowgirls until it's revealed that their boots and chaps were pre-purchased, or -- even better -- bought with money from a government program!

Yep.

Kansas is insolvent, California has a massive surplus, and yet the "OMG, tax hikes never work but tax cuts always leave states awash in revenue!" dogma-peddlers - who never bother to see whether or not their mantra actually reflects what happens in the real world - continue to shovel what they shovel.
