You must be looking at Florida's case rate in the last 14 days (although HI and LA are still lower than FL). But as reported, Florida's confirmed case rate is decreasing "from staggering heights." Florida still ranks high in the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases per 1 million population.

As I have stated, if mandates is what keeps case rates low, why isn’t cases in Florida still exploding? Why are there so many covid cases in California which has the strictest covid mandates in the nation? What evidence do you have the lack of covid mandates were the cause of the high case rate in Florida during the summer?

Doesn't look like it.

California confirmed coronavirus death rate per 100 K in past 14 days: 3.6
Florida's confirmed virus death rate per 100 K in past 14 days: 7.9

I will explain again in simple terms since you seem to be adamant in not understanding. I am sharing info said by experts unlike you talking as an expert even though everyone knows you aren't one. Covid is a 2 month period cycle, whether you have restriction or not doesn't matter. It will peak and go down, but what actually matters is how many lives we (FL!) sacrifice. Going by past data, same FL and CA will have another surge but no. of deaths comparatively will be lower in CA (provided CA continues with precaution as they do now)

About 1,500 Americans have died of Covid every day over the past week. For older age groups, the virus remains a leading cause of death. And the main reason is that millions of Americans have chosen to remain unvaccinated.

For older people, the effects of vaccination are profound. In late August, near the height of the Delta wave, 24 out of every 10,000 unvaccinated Americans 65 and above were hospitalized with Covid symptoms, according to the C.D.C. Among fully vaccinated Americans 65 and above, the number was 1.5 per 10,000.

Even so, many Americans are saying no to a shot. Among affluent countries, the U.S. is one of the least vaccinated, trailing Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and others.

The low vaccination rate in the U.S. is another consequence of our polarized politics and our high levels of socioeconomic inequality...

...It’s a triumph of misinformation. Offered a lifesaving drug to counteract a highly contagious virus, many Americans are instead choosing to take their chances.

Default The topic is LAPD

I've said before I don't want Florida-versus-California talk. It is off-topic. Stop it.

If this is any indication of the position of SCOTUS towards vaccine mandates I would suggest that it doesn't bode well for folks trying to fight the mandates:

Quote:
The Supreme Court on Friday turned down a request from a group of Maine health-care workers to block a state coronavirus vaccination mandate that does not contain an exception for religious objectors. https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...SeYdT6pnn3hKzo
