Where do Affluent Black Families live in MA? (Boston, Brockton: income, living in)

Well apparently there are too many kids in the Milton school system along with some issues that the black kids all go to tucker mostly. Doesn't sound like the easiest position right now especially during a pandemic.

Yeah exactly. To have the median that high you need to have much higher values and very few poor. In Weston about 2% of the population lives below the poverty line and the per capita income is over 105,000$. So, a family of for in Weston easily can make well over 400k. 105k per capita is ridiculously high, in Wellesley is 70k, in Norfolk county, the richest in MA, is 47k.

200k can be middle class or upper middle class, it depends on the number of kids. I think up to 2 kids can be considered upper middle class.

Dukes county is poorer than the state average. The uber-rich don't live on the island, they vacation there.

I agree they are very different. I was reading his/her post and reading it as $200K in take home pay on an individual basis. there are so few median income towns >$200k that i didnt think it was useful info.

I would have been wrong.

Not the thread for it but going to point this out anyway....

It's not like Milton is taking Black kids from East Milton and busing them to Tucker. Neighborhood elementary schools are part of Milton's charm. It would be short-sighted to start forcing kids out of school with their neighbors all in the name of "diversity".

Right there was a heated discussion on this on the Milton facebook page. Some black families are upset that based on the zone they live in their kids go to tucker with mostly other black kids. Some white parents said they purposely chose that area because they want their kids to go a more diverse school. The main argument was that it's done by zoning and if parents want their kids to go to another school they should move. Some parents did not want their kids taken out of the district school area because they see value in their kids walking to school with the other neighborhood kids. The schools are the same, it's not like some are better than others...although it was mentioned why does just Cunningham offer French immersion.
