Cite one instance of that ever happening. I've never done that in my life.

This is about me citing Vail Resorts, which owns a bajillion ski resorts in North America, setting corporate-wide $20/hour starting pay. In New England, that includes Wildcat, Attitash, Sunapee, Mount Snow, Okemo, and Stowe. Even at $20/hour, they can't staff their ski areas. The deplorables in this thread are somehow blaming the Massachusetts $15/hour minimum wage as being the root cause of a restaurant closing on the Cape. The Cape has an enormous labor shortage because housing is so expensive. The exact same problem as Sunapee, Attitash, and Wildcat and the housing in rural New Hampshire is a heck of a lot cheaper than the Cape. This same problem certainly exists inside 495 where housing costs are off the charts.

Amigo, you being wicked rich and wicked smaht should know it's not just the dishwashers and burger flippers that got a lot more expensive, it's every single input used to run the restaurant and it has gotten to a point where prices those restaurants need to charge to break even are higher than what the customers are willing to pay.

As for the other part, amigo, thankfully our mods are not banhammer-armed leftie nutjobs and won't just randomly delete what some fragile snowflake might perceive as a micro-aggression, we are fairly certain you along with a few other posters have done a fair amount of report button bashing and whining to the mods because big bad rethuglican repugnicans hurt your feelings.

You’ve read the TOS, right? If you’re right, there’s no need for ad hominem arguments.

What’s funny is that despite the attacks, you seem to be on about the same page as to what’s causing businesses to close—high prices. I’d guess there is some disagreement on the root cause, but it’s probably worth remembering that it’s a global problem and US inflation is better than most places in the world.

Well clearly, artificially inflated wages will lead to higher prices. In other news water is wet.

Minimum wage is artificially inflated. These wages seem to be inflated by market forces. Wages only seem to be a part of overall inflation.

I mean “water is wet” is true, but it doesn’t explain the hydrological cycle.

Americans lost nearly $7 trillion in wealth over the first three quarters of 2022. What's the price of ice cream?

Exactly my point, but it doesn't align with the narrative. He's endlessly blaming the minimum wage and COVID payments that ended ages ago for restaurants that are closing now. We're at full employment. People have better work alternatives than slinging hash at a family restaurant for sub-$20/hour and no benefits.
