It seems like happy hour isn't needed in the Boston area at most places...people will order the expensive drinks from brunch time through closing.

If you don’t mind paying $20 for a martini, you are really out of touch with what things cost. I’d rather stay home and have a $4. Martini.

Well I wasn't usually the one paying for them.

I am so glad I live in Jersey where drinks are typically $3-7 and Martinis are rarely over 12. lol

Boston drinks prices are so inflated (Outside beer)

You'd be surprised. Raising wages past minimum, in some areas, is the only way to attract potential employees. There's still a massive shortage of food service workers around.

But of course the only businesses able to sustain those wages are globalist chains that suck the life and character out of a community.

Beer is stupid expensive now too. A "Local craft" draft pour at a restaurant will set you back $8-10. Maine Beer - Lunch drafts seem to be $11+ on every menu I've seen. Bud/Coors/Miller even seem to be $5+ at most places I've been. I know there are economic circumstances that are driving prices up everywhere, but there's a local problem too if it's cheaper to drink in places like NYC, SF, LA, etc. "Boston's an expensive city" is not justification enough.

You can buy a bottle of Tito for $19...but people pay just about that just for one drink and cheaper vodka.
