But that's not what was being discussed. You questioned whether Dedham ever truly had old money folks living there. I was pointing out that it's pretty obvious it did. As jayrandom noted, Precinct 1 in Dedham is indeed a remnant of old money. Obviously the people from a century ago don't still live there, but that area is pretty meticulously maintained and cared for, so clearly wealthy people still own those properties.

The rest of Dedham, though? Yeah, it's pretty mixed. Lots of downtrodden neighborhoods, lots of congestion, and some nicer middle-class neighborhoods all mixed in. Not my cup of tea but I also wouldn't make such a blanket statement claiming a reasonably fine town bordering the city of Boston "just isn't a good town to live in." It might not be good based on your own priorities, but I'm guessing it works just fine for many others.

Dedhmam has mostly turned out deadbeats...not old money.

It's always been a mixed town. And a lot of the "problem" people there come from outside.

Not obvious to me. If it was that great of a place to live in it would have competed with places like Milton, westwood, west roxbury, norwood. It never has.

No it's not. Look at the address. The river is the divider.

Nobody said it's "that" great of a place to live, it's probably on par with Norwood though.

why are we knocking on trailor parks anyways? I mean these are likely homes to the kids who need free lunches that we are providing right?
