This isn't a bad idea for a lot of families, either.

Yards are an eyesore and take up so much time and resources to maintain. If you enjoy that, great! But that's not how I'd prefer to spend my time. A small yard is fine for most families, especially in areas where there are parks nearby.

I guess they have the freedom to choose where they want to shower.
Septic systems are based on the number of bedrooms as that is the limiting factor for number of residents. You can have as many bathrooms as you want. Being waterside may have it limited the number of bedrooms - hard to find a proper leaching field.

There are at least 3 bedrooms pictured in the listing.

Yards an eyesore? Some yards are gorgeous.

Yards are an eyesore if you have folks who don't maintain! There are plenty of those as well as plenty on the other end of the spectrum who do maintain gorgeous yards. I think towns need to step it up and start issuing fines for unkempt properties. It's a disgrace. There are so many folks who would love to be able to own and maintain a home. The ones who do and don't maintain have no business owning a home. They make condos for that reason!

If you look at photos 39-41, they show 2 bedrooms. It looks like the “bonus room” off the family is staged with a bed but it’s not counted as a bedroom as it lacks a closet. Lots of winking and nodding going on there.

Yes, I can see why someone wouldn't want a yard but to just say, yards are an eyesore is incorrect.

Anyways, I do think yards *can* be overrated. At our previous house we had a larger yard (for a city yard) that we barely used. My current next door neighbors decided they wanted a bigger yard so they knocked down a bunch of trees in their yard to essentially make the yard longer/bigger. Then they built a shed at the end of the yard. It just looked better before...and they are barely in the damn yard so I don't see what the point was. The trees provided more privacy and now give them (and me) more of a view of another home and i would have preferred to look at the trees. I think the other house feels the same.

In Massachusetts, a yard can be very beautiful from late April to late October. It is basically useless for the other half of the year.

right which is why i don't understand my neighbors need to knock down trees to create a bigger yard.

Most SFHs have some type of yard.

You don’t have to understand- their house, their yard, their choice.
