If you have a family and kids I wonder how they handle that if your a foreigner? I got out the Corps in 2002 after a little trouble (nothing criminal) I tried to go to the Army but wasn't accepted. I'm now 29 and still in really good shape and would be interested in the FFL but I now have kids and a wife so how would that work?

the Special forces, Rangers, Navy Seals are picked and plus the USMC has a drop out rate of 40,000 a year in basic. So, the OP not willing putting the in effort to get his GED.

If he Can't take take night classes at a comminty college then he would be in for quite a shock at Basic
I can't believe this thread is still going

Did the OP join The FFL?
The IDF?
The Marines?
Anything?

We do not generally close threads because of inactivity...

I try not to close threads just because individuals try to disrupt the thread or otherwise violate the Terms of Service. Hopefully there are other solutions.

I actually am interested to see if what happened. A tour in recruiting gave me an interest.

Hi there

You have to know that the FF Legion isn't just the army,It's the one big family.
If you want to join them you will have to prepare yourself.
Training in legion is not normal.Do 100-150 pushups every morning,50 pullups , run 10 km in the morning, put some heavy stuff in your backpack and walk with it. Don't sleep too much! Just Train. If you think that this shi* is real training, don't join to FF legion. This is just preparing. In legion this shi* is just warming up. Learn how to fight(Train karate, taekwondoa,MMA)
Remember this: The U.S. military is good,it's strong...Marines,AF,Seals..they all have the tough training,But training in legion is harder. For example:at the FF legion base on Corsica,Marines did 'training of legionnaires' for 6 hours, Legionnaires did it for 45 minutes.
By the way,yes you can join them with glasses,IQ isn't that hard(yes it's timed)

During my last tour in Afghanistan, I was asking a French officer about the FFL. He was quick to point out that they were not special forces. That surprised me because I always assumed they were. From talking to some other French officers and NCOs, I was getting the impression that they are over hyped. In any event, I respect anyone who takes up the profession of arms.

Apparently, the OP got cold feet. His post was a year ago and we haven't heard from him since.
