Vendetta for the Saint
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3141810/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

A two parter from the 60's TV series made into a feature flick. Pretty decent with nice backgrounds of Europe in a simplier time. A 7.6.

Tried to watch “Lou” w/Allison Janney on Netflix—

Could have been interesting—her as a version of Jeff Bridges in the “Old Man” or Liam Neeson in “Taken”
She reminded me of Agnes Morehead in the Twilight Zone episode about the mini-robot invaders
But the script is just SO lame…couldn’t take more than 30 min

Interesting for its historical accuracy and location settings—great set and clothing design
Plot does offer some differences from Shakespeare’s Hamlet
I thought Kidman was excellent as Gudrun—you can see why she took a sword as her momento
Skarsgard got his thong framed—and he has a beautiful body
It was a good movie but lacked the spark that would make it a movie you would choose to rewatch if you stumbled across it in a year or so
The ambient/natural lighting IS an issue —I tried watching it on bigger screen tv w/ and w/o lights on and finally used my IPad w/o lights…but I admit my vision is not that sharp anymore

I watched The Northman in the theater on Dolby Digital, and it was a very impressive almost visceral experience. It's difficult imagine re-watching it on TV though because I think that takes a lot away from it.

As far as the last movie I watched goes...I watched Halloween Ends tonight. I jokingly called it "The School Shooter Halloween". If you watch it, you'll know what I mean.

Decent old time horror flick with surprise appearances by familiar faces early in their careers. A 6.4.

Astronaut

A nice fantasy flick of the modern time with a feel good feeling and no sloppy soap opera like emotionalism. A 7.2.

Planet of the Vampires (1965)

Vintage sci-fi. Aesthetically it is very cool. Space traveller's land on a strange, foggy planet populated by dying vampires. Because of all the colors & ambient fog, it reminded me of a stylish comic book.. but a stylish comic book that has almost no story. It's sort of like an episode of original Star Trek, without social commentary. Not bad, just pretty empty on plot. A good sample of sci-fi from that era. On Prime right now.

It sounds like an episode of Rocket Robinhood.
