The Conqueror of the Orient
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0148011/?ref_=tt_urv

A nice, 74 minute (wonder what those other 12 minutes were about) escapism using classic approaches of horses and swords and battering rams and the good guy in the leather vest getting the girl in the end. A 5.6.

Watched on Tubi “Oranges and Sunshine” with Emily Watson as Margaret Humphries, British social worker who brought to light the terrible program to deport British children (often with living parents who were not informed) to commonwealth nations—Australia is one dealt with in movie
Went on for 80+yrs —thousands were transported basically as child labor —abused and disregarded—sad story
Happened into the 1970s
Took lot of shaming before govts and agencies involved admitted responsibility and wrongdoing

Saw “Glory” earlier today
Civil war film about first all black regiment that actually went into battle in Civil War
Good script, acting, and considered very accurate
Edward Zwick used to have history program to use it in schools
Don’t know if that is still active

On Amazon Prime: Zero Days.
I wasn't shocked but still, a very disturbing flick, nonetheless.

Anyone interested in computers, Internet and cyber security should see it.

Next on my list: Azorian - The Raising of the K129

That blurb has a great phrase “fiscal exactions”—-i.e. taxes

Robbery
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062207/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

Good cast for an illustration of the Great Train Robbery in the 60s and it moves along steadly but the excitement level isn't that much, The Jokers have much more of a punch. Of course, this film is closer to reality and the latter is a comedy. Say a 6.6.

Black Scorpion
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112519/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

Sort of like Batman vs Joker meets an Andy Sidaris flick. Lots of action, lots of nice toys, lots of near bare and full bare bosoms (just not overinflated) but not much else. It's like this was the first dress rehearsal before the director started working with the cast. A 2.0.

Saw The Retaliators last night at the theater. I typically don't go to the movies much anymore but this one has been on my radar for awhile and it was a 1 night show only. It was a fun mix of violence, gore, and rock n roll!

Tales from the Darkside : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100740/

Another classic horror anthology flick that's essential viewing for connoisseurs of horror anthology flicks IMHO .

Darkest Hour starring Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill during the lead up to WW2. Absolute brilliant film and I highly recommend it.

Having been given the advice to "talk to the people" for answers, Winston decides to ride The Tube for the first time in his life.
