its such a grey area . i feel if your breaking your lease that HDC/HPD should make it so the landlord doesn't sue you or take your deposit providing you leave the apartment in pristine condition
im looking toward the future of my move 30 days is not really enough time to legally break a lease without losing your security and paying whats left on the lease its all so confusing and nerve wracking
but you did it and congrats again .
Our landlord told us that we could move out and forgo our security deposit, of find someone to move in (start a whole new lease). We have a few people interested. So we are pretty confident it will work out. I agree though, HDC should protect new tenants. When I told my landlord we were moving because we got in to this program, they were like "whatever."

LOL, your sweet new Ashland apartment doesn't pay your landlords bills - did you really expect any other reaction. Its tough with a family, I get that, but since I'm single (and ready to mingle, by the way ), I am living month to month sublet until I get a decision

No of course I didn't expect any other reaction, but if you don't ask the answer is automatically no.

Jotcity congratulations!!! We are a family of 5 waiting to hear if we make it all the way through for. 3 bedroom so happy to hear someone actually made it through. I've been nervous since they are only 8 apts in each income band. But my intake specialist said there were still appts available in our band. So fingers crossed especially bc our current lease is up 12/31.

Woohoo!!! That's amazing. Is your unit on the F line? What floor? I'm praying there's a three bedroom left for us. Going in today to sign HDC papers. Wish us luck!

Hey, @jotcity since you are a family, maybe you can answer, are the asset verification forms for every income earner in the household?
