I believe the only 2BR was already taken because when I signed my lease, the management somehow didn't realize that they haven't changed some of the wordings from the previous one that was just signed & it happened I knew my lease agreement was taken from whoever won the 2BR unit - They signed their lease before me. It was very minor anyway but that's enough hint to know

If I'm not mistaken, at least 15 out of 16 units were already assigned. As I mentioned above, one 2BR was already taken, the fact I knew the winner already signed their lease before me. When I was contacted to submit documents & eligibility interview, the leasing manager told me that even though I'm eligible for both 1BR & studio, all 1BR units were already assigned to lower log #s & I got the last studio that was available. When someone from lower log # withdrew their application, the leasing manager reassigned their studio to me & I accepted it so I assume the leasing manager will assign the last studio that was initially assigned to me to the next applicant after my log # if this is not already happened.
P.S. Oddly enough though, I noticed the status of 222 E 44th St. Phase I on the old HC website is still 'Tenant selection in progress' - So I wonder if they haven't done yet with the first 109 units that they offered in the first lottery. I recall the Phase I lottery was in May 2018 & I submitted my application over there too, my log # was 213xx & never got called.

That’s a really good log number in general (I’m sure a ridiculous amount of people applied) so yeah the only issue seems to be the amount of units being offered. You never know what can happen though.
