Maybe it's just me but I'm not that alarmed by the wording of the email. It said they would get in contact when a unit is available, not if. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting it, but I just felt like it meant that it's not happening right at this moment. They are probably backlogged with all of the people they started processing and maybe they don't want people constantly emailing them for updates when they don't hear anything. Doesn't the lottery run until 2022?
Ah, that’s sad - just got here lol Also realized I cant go next Thursday because of a commitment.
I did not get an email. Really hoping that’s a good sign.
Don't quote me but I believe they have to hold your spot until you get a formal rejection. Sine you were in the 290s, if you were to appeal and win, they would have to place you. Wishing you the best.
God I really hope that them saying there are not units left is a fluke! I'm in the 290s and have done everything I can to submit documents on time and follow up with the office. I am 100% eligible for this lotto and the idea of losing out on an apartment like this to later lotto numbers is so heartbreaking.
If anyone knows someone I can complain to please let me know. This is so sad and frustrating.
I'm not sure if this helps, but the only two people I've seen on this message board who received that email, me and Anon, are over 1000. If you didn't get the email it probably doesn't apply to you.

Hope so! I received a reply to my email this morning:

Your file is being reviewed; we will contact you when a unit is available for occupancy.
At least it’s not an outright rejection! But my dreams of moving by end of fall are slowly dying lol
After much waiting, I finally received an offer for a 1-bed. Rent is ~1,700, not PCV. Didn't get any sample pictures though, so will ask for that. There's still hope everyone!
I received an offer (and accepted!) for a 1 bedroom. Number was in the 200s. Unfortunately it seems I got one of the more "desirable" units (ugh) and am getting charged ~1800/month. If it was 50-100 less each month that would've really helped me out personally but I'm not going to get a better deal in Manhattan so I'm taking it!!
