What size apartment? Is this the first documentation request?

Any idea about why you're hearing now? As you've probably seen here, people over 1000 have already been contacted. Either way, congrats and good luck!

I have all sorts of colors on my walls. Stuy Town will use whatever colors you want, too, but there's an extra charge. (Plain white is free, every three years.)
When you say "Stuytown will use whatever colors you want" - would they paint (a color) before you move in for a lottery apartment? Do you choose from their colors or do you provide your own paint if you want a color?

As a new tenant, you will just get the basic white everywhere. You would have to wait three years, and then you could pick colors. Last time I did it, I could select from all the Benjamin Moore colors, but now I think they use another brand. I think they can still match the Benjamin Moore colors, at least approximately.

You would pay a charge for each different color that you pick, and maybe it goes by surface area too.

No, they will not use paint that you’ve bought.

Can you hire people to come in and skim coat the apartment? It just looks nicer if it's skim coated vs regular painted.

Yes, you can bring in your own painters and do anything you like. However, when you move, you will be charged if the walls are not restored to plain white.

I’m not familiar with skim coating. Would you skim coat and then paint over that?

Yes! It's just a way of smoothing out the walls if there are bumps or lumps. So obviously this question largely depends on what the walls look like lol. Thank you!

The walls are not perfect but look pretty good to me, considering the age of the buildings. They are plaster over cinder block.
