Congratulations! That's great news. I didn't enter the lottery for 2 Blue Slip because of the lack of transportation near there.

Enjoy your new home.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences! It has been extremely helpful!

Was just wondering if anyone can share how the apartment viewing was. They they provide you three places and that was it, you had to choose from that pool or were you able to get a list and then choose which ones you wanted to view?

Lurker here. Wanted to share my timeline as a data point:

Log #4XXX

3/22/21- Entered lottery on Housing Connect
7/9/21- Received log number
10/27/21- This was the date they expected to reach my number, but then they said they were running behind. I followed up with MGNY via email a couple times between July and November to get timeline updates, they were always reponsive.
11/23/21 - Received documentation request. Sent them back the same day.
11/29/21 - Received a phone call from MGNY saying my documents looked good. Then got an email to submit my apartment preferences and schedule a viewing date.
12/7/21 - Viewed apartments. Sent back my apartment choice (2 BR) later that same day.
12/10/21 - Received TIC and signed it. Shout out to MGNY, who submitted my app to HPD by EOD that same day.
1/3/21 - Received an email from MGNY saying my application was approved!

Reading this forum helped me a lot in coping with this looong process. Having to wait over the holiday made the holiday nervewracking to say the least. Good luck to everyone!

You don't receive a list of units to choose to see, at least not in my experience. They will have curated 3 options to show you on your scheduled date. They determine those options based on a survey of your preferences that they email you to fill out.

Wow congrats!! Thanks for the info. I'm hoping everything goes well, planning on getting everything done and submitted this weekend. How ere the apartments they showed you? From previous posts, they were oddly shaped, no w/d, or not great view from what I saw.

The building is nice but the apartments aren't all that to me

Good luck, pazoob.

I'm anxiously awaiting my turn but enjoying this conversation while I do. What type of unit are you going for? I only want a one bedroom and it's going to be close if they have any left when my number 12XXX comes up in late spring.
