If you accept a lottery unit are you still able to participate in other lotteries? Or is it like a one and done kind of deal?

You can apply to other lotteries. Some people move from lottery building to lottery building.

You can continue to Apply. A lot of people here have lived in multiple affordable apartments. It just gets tricky to move from one to another cause the timing with lottery apartments is very irregular.

Thanks for the info! But fair point with the timing. Right now I think it’ll be fairly easy for me to break my lease. Maybe less so in a lottery building. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the bigger buildings have procedures in place if you want to break your lease. (As in, very doable, but with a fee.)

Not necessarily. My building would not let me break my lease. I had to "abandon" my apartment (fully move out) turn in my keys and send an email to management that I was giving up ALL rights to the apartment. Once I did that, they started looking for someone to take over the lease. In the interim, I continued to pay rent, luckily only took 6 weeks.

I would say, check the lease first, then email management, if you are lucky they work with you. Some will not....

Also, calculate your moving cost because it's not cheap, not to mention packing & unpacking is exhausting!

Did they contact you to submit more documents? Were you approved? I think you log was in the 4k range if I remember correctly?

I was reached in the 5K range so I'd imagine so if that is the case.
