Nope, I think we were just supposed to reply to them with our preferences/if we were still interested.
I found the open house kind of silly. I mean, we haven't even had eligibility interviews yet - so it kind of feels like a waste of peoples time. But, I get that it may help them remove people who don't like the space. Alas, I guess sometimes you just need to play the game.
I sent an email to them on Saturday (right after the open house) letting them know that I preferred the Studio layout. They replied to me yesterday (Monday) at about 1PM, " Thank you for stating your unit preference. An Eligibility Specialist will be in touch within the week."
I take this as a hopeful sign. I really love the building and the neighborhood, but am trying not to get too excited!

they sent me the same message too - so alas, we wait.
As a side note, I don't get it with these buildings and all these floor to ceiling windows. I get that it looks good visually but from a room-layout perspective, it really limits furniture options (in my opinion).
Hopefully there's enough apartments for all of us (and some people saw them and declined)
Has anyone else heard anything? Last I heard after the open house was that I'd be contacted by an eligibility specialist within the week, but I have not heard anything.

Ah ok, good to know there's movement somewhere. I see you have a lower log number than me - so I guess that makes sense. Good luck and hopefully, my time will come!
I was asked for a ton of documents (and to send the back in 24 hours) notarized docs, had to explain each deposit into my account for the past year, a venmo statement, etc. Then, they sent back a bunch of documents for me to sign; a pre-lease, tax docs, race docs, etc. She said these will be sent to the building and the city for final approval, estimated time is about 2 weeks in total
That being said, what are the chances I actually get the apartment now? Any reason I'd be denied this late in the process? My lease is up Jan 1 so I'm just trying to figure out what to do without burning bridges with my landlord.

I would imagine youre in your last leg and VERY CLOSE! congrats! All that's left is the final seal of approval - from there who knows really in terms of timeline in terms of when your lease ends. I am still waiting to be contacted post open house.
Avala - if you’re at this point you can all but assume you qualify and have the apartment if you want it. Only a major change in your income/situation from when you first submitted docs would change this. Since they’re actively working to finish your application they’ll be more responsive. It would be ok to ask questions like lease start times and which apartments are left for you to consider.
just an update: i got contacted for more documents post open house! yay!!
