You mentioned your friend applied but didn’t got to top three.
They only allow three applications. After that the listing is removed. The people who successfully fill in the form on the website are getting an email automatically that they need to complete in 24h.
And then after approximately 2-3 days you’re informed if you’re first in line to send documentation or not.

My friend said she got a message that three people already applied, so she must have been neck and neck with another applicant, who hit Send first.

I applied to one of the two bedroom apartments this morning. Thank you for the updates! It's weird that the apartment countertops and cabinets have been renovated, but the oven doesn't have a hood. No oven hood is usually a deal breaker for me.

Congrats! Those are a super deal, since the rent can be split, if desired, and these are rent stabilized. And the two-bedroom at 455 East 14th (6G) has the platinum finish!

You can hire a handyman and install an oven hood on your own, but it won't vent to the outside. I just use a 12-inch box fan on the windowsill. It seems to work fine. For a deal like this, you get creative with solutions.

Do you have at least two people in your household?

Me too! But for some reason I checked. I'm sorry you missed it. Maybe the apartments will be relisted, and this might be a sign more affordable ones will be offered!

One theory is that the 2021 lottery list might’ve ended and that’s why apartments are getting listed here?

Wow, that hadn't occurred to me. It makes sense, though. Even though ST specifically said that that lottery was continuing, no one has posted that they received an offer in quite some time.

And yes, my friend applied today. It's a shame she missed it because the apartment actually stayed on the site a pretty long time. I think lots of people didn't check the site because of the holiday.

Another theory of mine is that the team posted these symbolically on 4th of July.

I feel so bad for missing the two-bedroom apartments again today. The people running this lottery are probably so fed up with me applying for everything but apartments I'm all-in for.

Hopefully there are more cheap one bedrooms and two bedrooms to come.
