If you are shown a unit/layout but would prefer a higher floor, ask! I had success at another building in getting a layout I viewed on a floor significantly higher. I was unable to view the unit I was given but I was comfortable accepting it as it was exactly the same as the unit I viewed.

Things like, is this layout available on a higher floor, are there any available units with x kitchen layout, y# of closets, an additional bathroom in 2+ Br units. etc. Every marketing agency is different but if there if you have any preferences, it is always worth asking for them, this will be your home and the worst thing they can say is "no" and you then you can make your decision knowing you are being given the best offer they have.
