@ sobroguy, just pointing out the fact that it seems as if cop stories (not strictly related to things like rape) have been happening more often and it's pointing to a disturbing trend that the professionalism of cops overall is declining... now whether that trend will further spiral out of control I agree is a far stretch but I am simply stating it is something to watch out for...
Btw, at no point in time did i say things were spiraling back to previous times when what you said was definitely true...
Humanity at its lowest. I know going down the tracks is dangerous but the next train was going to reach the station in 14 mins. I am somewhat short (5'9) so my only fear would have been getting back up to the platform. I would have definitely helped the guy out when he was standing near the platform. If i had a friend, i would have jumped down the platform and gotten him up since i would have had assistance getting back up if i needed it.

That piece of crap just removed those videos, probably caught wind that it hit Gothamist and the like.
What is it with this sick fascination of filming other people suffering and either doing nothing about it or making light of it? It's like "Kitty Genovese Syndrome" to the 10th power.

The same block where a man was shot to death a couple of weeks ago...
Wow, I had family that lived on that block for over a decade, never was a good spot. If it's the same block I'm thinking about, then a lot of the walk-up buildings on one side of that block have been shuttered for several years now (which is why my family had to move) for some reason. All of the residents either had to leave or were re-located, yet the buildings still remain shuttered. Strange. Of course it probably had nothing to do with this crime....just sayin'.
I'm reading yesterdays ny post paper, there is an article about a rise in crime in nine of the cities s seventy six precincts. 42pct in the bronx especially in redevelpod parts. 90pct in gentrified williamsburg and 76pct carrol gardens. Stalbans 113th pct. Im surprised the precinct in my area the 40th was not listed even with a spike of murders in the area this year.
A criminal has been robbing elderly men in Manhattan. One victim was chocked and died after suffering a stroke. These occurred in the area of 28th Av/Broadway in the subway entrance and elevator.
