Yes there are Troopers in NY Trooper cars on bridges and tunnels. Yes thats a fact.

But ALSO there are Bridge and Tunnel officers patrolling with them. Since cashless tolling went into effect, they took all of the Bridge and Tunnel officers and put them in patrol cars (With new paint scheme) to enforce vehicle and traffic laws.

They have very different uniforms and see both daily on my travels around NYC bridges.

Next time you cross a bridge slow down and look in the cars. You will see a trooper in Trooper cars and BTO's in BTO cars. No reason to put a trooper in a BTO car lol.

Lets not forget that NYS trooper has precinct in NYC. State Trooper Precinct is located on Randall's Island and that Precinct oversees all NYC operations of NYS Trooper. State Police presense has grown due to the fact that State police must assist Port Authority Police, MTA police and Bridge and Tunnel Officers. I also have seen State Troopers on the GWB as well. I'm not to sure of the State Troopers assist the NYPD.

There are always state troopers on the van wyck and rockaway blvd close to the airport. I saw one today. I usually see them a couple of times weekly. The taxis and pther inconsiderate drivers like to park on the soft shoulder where the van wyck terminates to enter the airport. I saw state troopers giving 3 cars tickets this morning.

NY State Troopers are in NYC in MUCH HIGHER numbers than ever before due to Gov. Cuomo not liking Deblasio. It's the Governors way of reminding Deblasio "Who is in charge"....
