You see them at Penn Station sometimes. They must have a higher height requirement than NYPD because they're all tall. Either that or it's those hats.

On the Bronx side of the Whitestone Bridge just past the toll plaza I've seen them sitting there with the NYPD Hiway patrol.

Thought of this thread today. Saw a state trooper parked at Exit 17 on 278, just over the Verrazano in Brooklyn.

You know what it is, this is Cuomo throwing his weight & influence at DeBlasio. I've also noticed a lot of troopers at the Triboro bridge lately. They're clearly not needed with the amount of NYPD & MTA / Port Authority cops around, this is all political

Troopers in the area are usually just on Long Island

Saw 2 yesterday alone, one on the median on the Bronx bound side of the Whitestone bridge, and then another blocking traffic behind a disable car midway across the span.

Saw about 5 troopers on the Belt recently, pulling people over. About one trooper every couple miles or so from the Southern State Split to like Erskine St. This was definitely a first.
