I have not seen a state trooper in NYC since 1970.
Then you don't leave the UES very often! There was an army of them in NYC starting 9/12 but after they went away they came back within the past year at all the bridge crossings as a way for Cuomo to throw his weight around in DeBozo's back yard
got caught on the Bruckner once doing 75. NYC has a complex police system, i assume troopers rather stay away.. i see more as i get into yonkers and up.
like i said , these troopers here are state police but are assigned a special detail here at the bridges and approaches . there is a bridge and tunnel emblem on the doors .
they do a load of traffic enforcement , pulling people over one after another . they hope to catch those with warrants or scofflaws so the more traffic stops the better your chances

Those are NOT Troopers, those are Bridge and Tunnel Officers. Look a couple pages back, I explain in detail.
The Bridge and Tunnel Cops had their cars painted to Mimic state troopers. Yes Troopers patrol along side them but there are many more Bridge and Tunnel Officers ....
according to what i read the governor assigned 150 state trooper to the bridges to assist with cashless tolling scofflaws and they are assigned a bridge and tunnel detail and the car is decaled as such . there were rumors on you tube they were just painted that way and are the tbta but it does not seem to be the case .

"Cuomo ordered 150 troopers to the city’s bridges and tunnels starting in January to pull over ticket scofflaws, a centerpiece of his plan to begin cashless tolling. He sent several dozen more troopers to La Guardia and Kennedy Airports this year "
In New York State, if you go to anywhere but NYC, a state trooper isn't too hard to find. In my 18 years of living in this city (14 of them having full memory of) I've not once seen a state trooper here. I've seen NYC sheriff cars a few times but thats about it.
According to the official website, there are indeed troopers stationed here. I also found a picture of a state Trooper, however the article notes it's a Troop L car, which covers long Island. NYC is it's own troop.
So it bugs me that while they claim to have troopers here, I've never seen one. Have any of you ever seen one? Thoughts, reactions?

I have seen state troopers at Penn Station, lga airport, world trade center, jfk airport, 33rd Street and path etc train station, and grand central. Those state troopers were stationed there to assist transportation law enforcement like the Port Authority police and mta police.
I've seen some patrolling in vehicles and also standing guards at port authority and penn station.
