Gun control works.

So for the greater good the govt should collect all handgunds and triple the penalities for illegal possesion.

Never mind the 2nd amendment.

Editorial: Make 'whatchamacallit' respect the Constitution
The NYPD has come up with a compelling retort to the idea that it's running a stop-and-frisk operation that should die. A week after federal Judge Shira Scheindlin appointed a federal monitor to ride herd on the embattled program, the NYPD announced the largest gun bust in city history. The details are a reminder that stop and frisk needs mending -- not ending.

The final box score on the gun takedown: 19 people under arrest, accused of taking part in a gunrunning ring stretching from the Carolinas to Brownsville, Brooklyn, and 254 firearms confiscated -- 243 handguns, nine rifles and two shotguns. Among this weaponry, say police, were fully automatic assault weapons and a machine gun.

Then comes this priceless snippet of conversation that police overheard on a wiretap: "Yeah, I'm in Charlotte now. I can't leave until you come, 'cause I can't take [the guns] to my house, to my side of town, 'cause I'm in Brownsville . . . We got like -- whatchamacallit -- stop and frisk." Score one for the NYPD.

The anti-gun nuts should be happy how stop and frisk helps stop black market guns from flooding into NYC.

Chicago, take note.

New York has no jurisdiction over what happens in other states. We can only police our neighborhoods. Also, what about the right to bear arms?

I agree nothing is in the greater good if it involves depriving people of their rights. We cannot allow a police state to emerge, just because some idiots allow themselves to be scared by right wingers who utilize the media.

Two strikes against Bloomberg's Stop and Frisk have already happened, the federal court ruling and now the city council law.

As for this young woman, if an individual person did this to someone on the street it would be rape. This young woman was basically raped by miss pervert cop I hope she gets a lot of money in the civil suit.

The right to stop, question and search an individual is based on a police officer's suspicion which they encompass from years of experience on the streets and we cannot take that important tool away from cops because some thug wants to lie about their rights being violated, when they were deemed to be acting suspicious.

That's all well and good....however, guess who benefits the most from stop & frisk?

Blacks and Latinos who were the ones being murdered the most prior to stop & frisk.

Lose some rights, but gain the most important right....to live!

This is complete bull****. You don't have Blacks and Latinos saying they want to be stopped and frisked or that they want this done in the city or their neighborhoods. You just don't. Now stop and frisk is being struck down, know it all white conservatives presume to speak for Blacks and Latinos. Newsflash, we can speak for ourselves. You may not like what we have to say.

Its why de Blasio is high in the polls, because Blacks and Latino voters are not interested in voting for a white candidate who is pro stop and frisk.

You also presumed to speak for Blacks and Latinos. Black and Latinos voters are not coming out for Stop and Frisk. So it shows you how they feel about the practice, so the city council took note and took action. And this is playing out in the mayoral race, where de Blasio is high in the polls and popular among non white voters.

No, de Blasio is using his son as a pawn, purposely having him appear as some slovenly looking bum on commercials for sympathy with his overgrown afro and the media as usual is eating it up. His whole campaign is on taxing the so called rich people and ending Stop and Frisk so his son doesn't have to worry about being stopped and frisked (as he should be) should he be seen as being suspicious for doing some illegal activity. What a waste.
