I didn't hear that but if there's any kind of truth to it and I hear about it I'll keep you posted

Still no official classes booked yet as per FBF this morning. Kind of an odd rumor though, no? "We'll hire somewhere between 300 and um....800 lol. Did he also predict the classes will be somewhere in between January and December?
I keep hearing a lot of rumors that they want a large amount of hires this year to up the cleaning numbers, apparently the new commish is big on cleaning functions, and the compost program, which would mean more trucks and more MLP crews, in turn increase in manpower. I don't know hot true this is but I can tell you that my first 6 months in my district we never ran MLP, since new commish started they've added MLP to day and night shifts so it's possible a sign of the rumors having some sort of truth to them.

I hope the rumors have truth to them. That would be great for the people waiting for this job. Thanks for writing.

Key word in all this was compost which I assume means the organic waste program. This creates a new need for guys. For example it added 22 routes in one Brooklyn garage and 15 to another that had 5 of those organic routes already. Multiply that by two guys per truck and they now need 84 guys out there....that's just two garages.
But keep in mind she's not the one that gets to say we can hire. That's the mayor
what happened in that meeting that took place to ask for 400 new hires ?
Nothing...it's ongoing. You basically tell the mayor your needs and eventually he OKs what you can have
