I don't know, but when I was in Romania in the 90s, they hated the Russians,--actually all former eastern block countries seemed to dislike and not trust each other.

People were so unused to foreigners at that time that no one even realized I was one until I said so (even though my Romanian was pretty bad). There were some African students here and there. Some of the people I met (mostly older ones) were quite openly racist and homophobic unfortunately.

Seriously.

The fact people even consider this is insane. I think republicans nowadays are treasonous scum, but I honestly may be moving to Texas in the future for work. I’m also considering moving to the South when I retire.

Lighten up people, focus on stuff that’s important in life.

They may have hated the Russians, but as part of the Eastern block, they were likely educated in the Soviet (racist) system.

My country was not in the Eastern bloc, and the three domestic ethno-religious groups (all white) were too busy attacking each other to even give any thought to racism. As far as my education went, I remenber it as heavily focused on chemistry, biology, physics, math and languages (ie, racism was not one of the subjects).

I don't know what they were taught in school, but Romania was more independent of Russia at least after Ceausescu came to power in the 60s.
