The only reason I didnt wanna head over to the bronx is because of the tolls ill be paying on a daily basis as far as the job goes thats not my problem. Just to whole toll situation and no discount for city employees crazy. But hey I might like it out there from what i am hearing just hating to pay the tolls!!!! I am blessed to be wokring so i wont quit!!!
Put in a transfer if you don't like the district you are in. Transfers happen even when there aren't any new classes. Do a little research see where you fall in seniority and then make a decision.
Does anyone know anything about Bronx 6? how is the garbage over there, clean or dirty?? running or takes their time?? How is the garage it self?? I know borough command is there... is it very strict their?
I was there for my first month.... did 14 tons my first day. I would say it's dirty - and not just because I compare to my district now. Running. I never really got to know many up there except the two I came in with. We all transferred to Queens together and keep in touch. Picked up the pails in the BC and made a couple runs for supplies to Greenpoint for the BC but it was OK.
The district itself is bounded roughly by Webster Av, Fordham Rd, The zoo, 180th street, the Cross Bronx and Crotona Park North and wraps around the 48 Pct.
There are brooms there (6A) and EZ Pack. If you stay there you will probably get pack qualified.
lol clean or dirty its the BRONX!.....im sorry to see u guys go ,i had 7 more guys beat @ my garage!!! lets see if your gonna make the 1st yr and a half going back n forth to the bx doing round robins and 12-8 baskets now......we need more classes!!!
No more RUNand DUMP or RUN and Dump after lunch. Unless you are a fool. Who wants longer routes. Follow the rules. I notices it's acatually less strain on the body. Because the routes in many districts right now can't be completed if we take breakes and follow traffic rules.
