True. It's just a sad commentary when we decide to strip rights from minorities based on "popular opinion."

Marriage is to be between one man and one woman only. There is no other definition recognized by The Bible, therefore it shouldn't be recognized by the state of North Carolina. God bless. (:

It already define in North Carolina by DOMA. North Carolina already defines it one woman and one man. So there is no need an amendment.

If the Amendment fails nothing changes the law of defining one man and one woman is still the law of this state.

If it passes then there a risk to straight and gay civil unions

The state constitution is not the bible. It does not say "In NC we trust."

Want to talk about the other 652 laws in Leviticus? How many have you broken? We cannot seek out one obscure verse Leviticus 18:22 and then selectively ignore Leviticus 1:9, 11:6-8, 11:10, 15:10-24, 19:19, 19:27, 20:14, 21:20, 24:10-16, 25:44, Exodus 21:7, 35:2.

We either accept EVERY law written in LEVITICUS as being the word of God and still sacred or we REJECT all the laws and replace them with Matthew 5:17-22, and James 2:8.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

2 John 4:20

Here an interesting survey.
If Amendment One passes, will North Carolina be more or less appealing to outside investment/business relocation? ==> Survey: If Amendment One passes, will North Carolina be more or less appealing to outside investment/business relocation? - Greensboro - The Business Journal

Time for a little positivity in this thread. The High Country United Church of Christ is running a series of ads against the amendment, proving that at least some so-called christians still actually comprehend and follow the teachings of Jesus.

Christianity: They're doing it right.

(You posted a much more clear version than I did over in the Triangle board, so thank you! I drove through rural NC for several hours today, and to my dismay, I only saw one, maybe two AGAINST signs. A vast majority FOR. So disappointing to see, especially in 2012.)
