fastfilm I can really relate ....DH and I are also from CA
altho not your area. We're from Carmel...beautiful, but
way too expensive. Also, unless you just stay in Carmel
we have all the same problems as you do in the southern
part of the state. Hubby worked in San Jose, so commute was a long horrible experience. He did that for 20 years.
Don't blame you for getting out!
We're in FL for the moment, but NC seems to be the better place for us. We just love the people there..everyone is so friendly and nice. I love the soft way they talk, and it's very beautiful there. Maybe we'll see you there! Hope so.....
I'm just curious. I see so many people on this forum and well, on my street, that come to NC in droves and just think this area is so great. I hear many different things, weather, economy, qualiy of life. But I was just wondering if some of you could be more specific? What about the weather, what about the quality of life. What is it exactly that you feel you will have so much better here than wherever you live now?
I hear that the job market is much great. Is there anyone out there looking to relocate to the Charlotte, North Carolina area? I have a 16 year old son, two dogs and are in need of someone to share renting a house with for not more than a year. We are wanting to move by August 1, 2006. We will be visiting the North Carolina on this week-end of the June 24th. I have a degree in Human Resource Administration and lots of administrative/office management experience.

I kinda noticed that people in the NC side are more harsh with the words than the SC side. Interesting.
The sad thing is that on this forum, (us Yankees as we are called ) are stereotyped as being rude, when in actuality these rude postings arent coming from us yankees. And I am not saying that all NC people are rude at all, I am saying lets just get rid of the stereotypes already. We are just in trying to get educated . As I stated before, we are all HUMAN, lets act like it !

Not all. But, your right. Most of the people complaining or what not are the NC people. I guess some just aren't ready for change.
The reason the people in NC are the ones who are talking bad (not really bad, but corrective, setting people straight on what it is really like here) is because we actually live here now and know what it's like.

corrective meaning go home, stop coming in , you are bringing down the value ?? Thats bad ! If people were coming here I WOULD not say those things !
