oh boy! You don't know what you are missin'!:d

LOL! What I'm missing, let's see: A runny nose, watery eyes, chapped cheeks, cold feet despite two pair of socks, and frostbite of the behind.
I have two sons who played ice hockey and I spent far too many hours
sitting on my frozen derrierre cheering the teams. (That's what Moms do)
Now in my dotage, I'm content to let the hardier folks partake of the outdoor winter activities.
BUT, what I like about W-B is the fact that there is something for everyone whatever your preference.
For colder weather, I can visit the Kirby, ArtsYOUniverse, Movies 14, the Osterhout library and a stop at one of the restaurants for a sammidge and a hot beverage.
It's all good.

...another thing I HATE about Wilkes-Barre...apparently, the annual "Cherry Blossom Festival" is this weekend (according to Diamond City) Was anyone aware that one of W-B's only notable events was being held this weekend? I am a bona-fide local news junkie, yet I had know idea The Cherry Blossom Festival was this coming weekend. Bravo to W-B to doing a stellar job advertising and getting the word out!!! Once again they drop the ball, fail to advertise, and show thier incompetence. Another missed oppurtunity. Shame on you W-B, shame on you mayor Leighton!!!

The city should get out of the festival business. Let a private organization like Arts Youniverse plan it, promote it and reap the benefits. They should do this for all the festivals in WB.

It has worked out very well for The Lehigh Valley with Arts Quest.
ArtsQuest ... imagine that.

what i love bout wb--such small amt of traffic compared to my former area
what i hate bout wb----the bad drivers and that infernal honking--i am wearing out my arthritic middle finger

what i love bout wb----boscov's---and shopping in a genuine,1960's,70's,80's environment all under one roof
what i hate bout wb-----only 2 stores to shop--boscov's n barnes and nobles(increases to 4 if you want to look at furniture or pseudo social event wear)

what i love bout wb---farmer's market, pizza places, and decreased police prescence(this applies to those so called out of town drug dealers that come to visit)---being sarcastic here
what i hate bout wilkes barre---witnessing obvious drug transactions downtown(never even saw that many in the inner city of paterson or south philly--we are talking bout daytime
business

what i love bout wb----good deals if you are buying a home
what i hate bout wb----finding a rental in a quiet neighborhood that is clean and kept up by the owner
