Did you see that I said supporting the Black Lives Matter "movement", to which I was referring to the shift in attitude across many millions in this country that there has been systematic racism in our country for ever, and it is time that change needs to happen.

I did not say everyone supports the BLM political organization. I am sure some people do, some don't. It is unfortunate that an entire cultural shift of attitude for many is tied to one organization, as many only understand it as a slogan for equality. But I, personally, am not wasting my time on that. I will spend my time working towards real change that gives everyone the same opportunities to achieve.

I think the next statue that needs to go is the one of Reston's founding father, Bob Simon, that's on the Lake Anne plaza. I don't know what particular sins Simon is guilty of, but it doesn't matter because he must be guilty of something...anything. Maybe it's the fact that by definition a founding father = oppressive patriarchal male authority figure.

So perhaps at zero dark thirty on a moonless night, Kieran Keating can zip over to Lake Anne -- arriving undercover, of course, in his neighbor's PT Cruiser -- and together we can heave Bob Simon into the turgid waters of Lake Anne to suffer the fate he so richly deserves.

Just be very careful and as quiet as possible. Remember---if you're too noisy, you will wake up the people who live in those condos on the plaza. They might call the FCPD. AFAIK, they haven't been ordered to stand down and allow violence/vandalism to happen. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong).

My husband said that after you're done with the statue, you should dump the PT Cruiser into the drink, too

BLM is not a Marxist group. You don’t see them at protests that have signs saying Communism for life they are fighting to change injustices. I find it sad that some people joke about the movement and what they are fighting and believe.

Just because they don't carry signs admitting to it, doesn't follow that they aren't Marxists.

Did you see on the news about the 11 year old boy who got shot in the head when a shooting happened and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time? He died in his mother's arms. His mother worked as a "violence interrupter" and was back in her old neighborhood organizing a gathering.

His two grandfathers, like their mother, were distraught. One of the grandfathers called out BLM saying they only care when a white cop shoots a black person. He then said BLM isn't doing a thing to work on ending violence among blacks.
