NYC, had at its peaks several thousand in icu.
Also, we are far away from approaching NYC's density, we don't have nearly as many international travelers, and we are not a mass commuting county.

Orange County health officials reported five additional coronavirus-linked fatalities Monday, bringing the region’s death toll to 57.

In the latest update — which followed days of protests over Gov. Gavin Newsom’s decision to close local beaches — the county also confirmed another 89 coronavirus infections, bringing its cumulative total to 2,819 since the outbreak began.

The number of new COVID-19 cases Orange County announced Monday was the lowest since April 28. The county has seen its daily caseload swell recently as it has significantly increased testing.

Today, we matched our previous all time hospitalization high of 202, first attained on 05/01/20. Hospitalizations seem to be increasing. Unfortunately, there were also 4 deaths reported today, for an OC cumulative total of 61 deaths (11 SNF residents, 0 OC jail inmates, 50 other).

The number is not going to go down. We're relaxing lockdown on Friday.

The trouble I have with the data is it doesn't tell us all we need. Current deaths are 74, up 9 since your last post, but we don't know if those are 9 deaths that happened May 7 to May 9, or if the deaths occurred prior to May 7 and the reporting of them lagged.

87 ICU cases and 218 in the hospital in general, daily new reported cases were 146.

If Daily Cases (which have never been more than 160 in OC) spike to over 200, do we shut things down? Barricade the county borders to LA and Riverside counties?
