I have been on a UK Fiat forum ever since we thought about getting a Fiat 500. My wife now has a white TwinAir.
The general consensus on that largish forum is that it suits both men and women. Both sexes appear to like it and over here there does not seem to be many people suggesting that if a bloke drives it then he's lost his manhood!
Many have had it 'customised' with race decals and so on to make it look a bit more blokeish.
It is a fun car, I enjoy driving it, and frankly I've never given a toss about what anyone else thinks about me. I know who I am even if I had to drive someone's pink VW Golf convertible. Well maybe that's going too far!
I drove the Abarth a while back nice car handles well enough pretty quick for 160hp. I didn't like the drivers seat no support & the shifter has in a odd place. I felt like I was on TOP of the car & not in it. If I'm going to buy something like that give me a 94-97 Miata.
There are no chick cars, just some insecure drivers. If you are unsure of your masculinity, then maybe you should care about it. Otherwise, Buy the damn car you like -- that's the ultimate guy thing to do.
I like the way the 500 looks, and Fiat is Chrysler anyway... at the auto shows the 500s are right next to the Dodge Challengers... seriously. And I like the way they both look, I guess I'm a retro car guy too. Of course, I like outdoor activities and the versatility of my SUV too much to give it up. I can put the kayaks on it, bikes in it, drive on the beach/off road, etc. But for a secondary car the 500 would be fun. So would a V8 Challenger.
