lol, my mother (bless her little heart)...use to give me whiskey as a teen when I had toothaches, or any pain, other than some brain issues (lol!!), I'd say I survived...

In good weather, it's a plum of a job - sweet. Not so, in bad weather.
Not all of the costumes cover their face. Either way it's not so great imo.

Businesses that don't display their street numbers outside their buildings, or impossible to find.

I was trying to find a Radio Shack the other day, for two blocks I couldn't find a number, didn't how close I was coming, or did I pass it up?

More irksome when traveling, as I love to hunt down used bookstores and thrift stores and being unfamiliar with the city. It can be exasperating!

True, tij, and most businesses post their hours on a sign you have to be standing in front of to read. As if everyone thinking of stopping there wants to park, stop their engine, and walk up to a business to read the hours.

LOL! I always get a kick out of seeing those folks prancing around in those idiotic costumes! My favorite was the snowman and the purple dinosaur at the used car lot near my home. Too bad they went out of business as I miss Barney!

That is frustrating ... Which reminds me of a peeve ... Intersections that do not have the street names on them ... The only way for you to know what street is coming up is to see the sign in the middle of the block prior to reaching the intersection ... Like how many folks would be looking for those signs?

Stores that are still closed today at 6pm. Give me a break. We had snow last night, but it was melted by noon at the latest. It's ridiculous that people overreact to an inch of white stuff.

When I called this Radio Shack, there wasn't even a message on the phone stating their hours of operation. I was desperate: my phone was down to its last bar, wouldn't charge anymore. Open 8,9,10? I guessed 9, and bingo! It was 9!

Yes, I've seen businesses with no hours of operation posted, even when you get there.

Good one. The people who frequent those places, they know and that's what matters. No thought for visitors.

That can be really hard on truckers. Imagine driving a vehicle that needs lots of space to maneuver, can't turn around and going down narrow streets crowded with parked cars and coming to a five way intersection with nary a street sign.

Oh, yeah. Like Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men: "You can't handle the snow!"

And just try to get anyone to answer a phone at just about any business these days. Almost all go to some recorded message.
