And your idea is to not let them go to a park alone until they're 12???

OMG, that would have driven me absolutely stark raving bonkers when I was a kid.
Here in CA even the teachers are being busted as predators of kids.

We have 10% of the population and 30% of the welfare.

One out of four are on Medical which is poverty health insurance.

We have tons illegals and criminals from everywhere else all around the state.

There is a lot to fear for good reasons in even the best of parks and elsewhere these days.

That doesn't surprise me. No place is immune especially in LA which is very mobile. But is that happening at night or broad daylight?

I have a relative who lives very close to CC park. I'll have to ask her if she'd leave 8-year old's there for an hour or two in the morning.

Yes, making your children available more so to people that could abuse, abduct or hurt your children in horrible ways is a CONCERN for me; why is it not for you?

That's a joke right?

30,000 people go missing a year in the USA. Food for thought.

Most are runaways, only about 150 kids a year are kidnapped by strangers.

You could look up what CAUGHT PAROLED pedophiles are in your neighborhood on-line.
There there are the pedophiles that are active and not caught, gangs, killers, crazies and so forth.

Kids can get themselves when young into trouble so many ways beyond people staking them.

LOL..I'm with you Mattie! I'd be right there alongside you in my car. However, since it was advertised online, I'd more likely have my video camera. Why waste the perfect opportunity to videotape any pervs who show up for the event!

Correct. And every hour in the US 150 children between ages 0 and 19 are treated in emergency departments for injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents. But people are enjoying feeling outraged by this terrible travesty.
