So..I know this is going to sound crazy but night before last our 15 year old daughter had some of her friends over, one of them brought an Ouija board. They were playing around with it in her room when my wife opened went into their room and saw them playing with it. She was NOT happy, and took it away and put it up along with giving some strong words about how bad it is. Now I am not religious, but my wife is and personally to me it's no more harmful than any other board game but obviously my wife views it very differently. I told her she was overreacting but she would hear none of it. They were all upset of course, but nothing they could do now.
To me, it's not a issue at all, but what do you think? I realize this may have a lot to do on whether you are religious or not.
Maybe by now (I didn't read all the replies) what I'll say has already been said.
This would bother me TREMENDOUSLY because I've seen and experienced that there is a spiritual reality and that there are spiritual forces of light and spiritual forces of darkness, but sometimes spiritual forces of darkness masquerade as agents of light... it can take a while for that reality to be revealed or realized.
Also, I've heard people I know to be honest and fair describe eery or just downright scarey situations with ouija boards like the one where one of my relatives said the board just kept spelling baby repeatedly until a young mom realized her toddler wasn't there.
They found her face down in the shallow creek outside and she ended up being okay but may not have been if any more time had elapsed.
The thing is when you mess with spiritual forces you HAVE NO IDEA what you're freeing or giving a welcome into your home, life, etc., until later, after damage has been done or worse.
Spiritual demonic forces FU** PEOPLE UP. I've seen demonic footholds in people's lives that keep them physically and/or mentally sick, enslaved to porn or drugs or their narcissism, and more, and then either other people praying or them realizing this thing is ruining their life and they cry out to God, that's the only way they were finally able to seek help or be released from the thing they were previously enslaved or greatly inhibited by.
I suggest read the Bible starting with Matthew in the NIV or NASB version (just more readable and still fairly accurate to the original Hebrew and Greek texts I think) and you'll see why I am saying what I'm saying.
Not everything we see happening is explained accurately or completely by things we can see, touch, hear, etc. We see the symptoms at times of things unseen.
Haven't you ever had that person that who knows why they suddenly snap and think you're saying something completely different from what you're saying, etc.?! That impossible or very hard to explain thing happens that is mostly or completely unexplainable by things you can see, feel, hear?
But then if one's convinced those things don't exist, nothing can persuade you otherwise.
We were commanded not to mess with (inquire of ) mediums and spiritists and astrologers (that is what the board is intended to do) because God's the only one who for sure won't lie to us, and all the others are posing as "god" like they have wisdom to see into the future, etc., but that takes time and discernment and reading (especially the new testament and examining Jesus) to know His voice versus that of the imposter.
I don't know if any of that helps but I wish you all only the best.
A century ago, ouija boards were very popular in this country. That was before they had smartphones, texting, sexting and the like. I think anyone would have to be a moron, to waste their time with one. End of subject, for me.
The new strains of marijuana are much more potent than they were back in the day, they can really mess with your perceptions. Try cutting back and see if the hallucinations go away.
If you don't have anything to offer this thread, why would you take the time to post and be snarky? You aren't funny and you weren't helpful to the OP.

Nothing to do with being religious the things are dangerous..
as kids , at my grandmothers we would light candles and get the ouija board out ...and my sister asked when my great grandmother would meet her maker...... so it gave us the day, month and year,,,
we wrote it down and forgot about it,,,,after she died...we found the piece of paper and it was exactly right... from two years earlier
little bit more than a coincidence ... for sure
That's kind of neat though. If you actually knew the date then you could prepare better for your family and then ones you leave behind.

Oh yeah, if people are "enslaved" by porn or drugs or their own narcissism, it must be a demon!
We played with Ouija boards when I was a kid in the 60's and 70's with no ill consequences, other than scaring ourselves. We also had seances to speak to the dead, but as far as I know, no communication was ever achieved.
I wouldn't care if my daughter had played with one.
Would never want my child to play with one. Would never recommend it. Certainly would not allow one to be played with in my house. Sure, I know some people have used them and nothing has come of it ("it's just a kids board game right!?") but I know enough stories from people who have had very bad encounters using one to stay away from them. Your opinion will depend on your experience with them of course, but I've heard enough to recommend no one ever use one.
