I feel like I am the only one hearing the noise out there. I am a temporary resident in Collegeville and since construction went underway on 29 for the WAWA (which is located right behind my sister's home), I have averaged 2 hours a night of sleep because of the drilling and the construction vehicle noise I hear. I feel like I am going out of my mind. They do the construction at night! I cannot believe no one is hearing this! Is there anyone else out there as annoyed as I am. I am currently at work struggling to stay awake. I have been late at least 2 times now since they began construction. What I don't understand is how can anyone approve to work on the area at night where residential homes are surrounding it. I have forwarded complaints to the borough, WAWA management, and state representatives. Last night, I was so fed up that I called the local police and complained. They are well aware of it, but I was also told that no one has actaully complained about the noise! That totally surprised me! I don't know what else to do!!!!

I have a home in Upper Darby (it's even quieter there at night despite the fact that it's walking distance from Philly). I have been going back and forth to my sister's place to help care for my elderly parents. I have a 8-4:30 job Monday to Friday and I come home to care for my parents (father- increased confusion at night and tendency to wonder outside at night, mother- with chronic heart failure, end-stage renal disease, and diabetic). My parents barely hears the construction due to the fact that they are a little hard of hearing. I want to go home to Upper Darby because of this, but I can't because of my parents. My mom does not like going Philly. She used to have a house there, but now she is quite settled at my sister's place. I am only 34, and they are like my children. I am soooo exhausted right now that I feel like I am hearing the construction noises continuously throughout the day! I look sooo hagard and tired, even my co-workers are commenting on it. I just want some peace and quiet and even offered that perhaps the construction should at least start earlier during the day and do quieter things at night. Is anyone else out there more knowledgeable or experienced this anywhere? What did you do?????
