The table's a little hard to read (I just copy + pasted from Excel--I don't have time to make it pretty right now

FWIW, I think it's a pretty useless statistic, but since people insisted on bandying it about in their attempts to bash PA, I figured I'd put it the rumor to rest.
The information that
actually means something is the
incidence of hate crimes , but even that shouldn't be used
to discount an entire state , as such crimes are seldom evenly spread, but
concentrated to specific areas . For example, while New Jersey has an extremely high rate of hate crimes as a whole, I've never experienced a single issue there, and I wouldn't let it scare me away from settling somewhere like Princeton or Haddonfield.
In that regard, PA ranks close to the bottom:
