This is a facile argument that anyone with even a sliver of critical thinking ability would laugh off. The phrase "race card" is a simpleton's rhetorical crunch. We don't know each other, but I'd be willing to bet that that I've built more from less than you have, and in a shorter period of time, but that's a relevant. It isn't my shortcomings that make me less likely to be hired than a white man with equal qualifications. It is in my shortcomings that would've been make me more likely to of been steered towards a subprime loan. And it certainly not my shortcomings that make me more likely to be killed by police. You think all white people are racist and out to get you and police are going to hurt you. You look for every opportunity to blame everyone else. Nothing good will ever come out of it and your feeling of being looked differenly at will never go away. You'll unfortunately pass this along and the card will keep getting passed and will never get thrown away. Lots of people refer to white people as "whitey". The term Bro is showing that wpipkins and I are viewed as brothers. Sometimes good can come from dialog. Tension seems very high to me right now on a lot of fronts. The media is fueling all kinds of fires in all kinds of directions. Strange times. I think I was born in much better times than we have today for the most part and I was born in very tough times in Pittsburgh. People leaving in droves, people not being able to feed their families and one big mess, yet for some reason people pulled together. Well the people who stayed through it all did anyway. Just I am just trying to get it better, so my outrageous post was provoking, yet very poorly written. Too much booze that night.

One thing that does seem to be evident when it comes to race. Whites and blacks don't view all things the same. A lot of things they do view the same, but there are some interesting differences. I remember when OJ Simpson got off the murder charges and watched the reactions. There was an overwhelming difference in how blacks and whites viewed that verdict. I didn't understand that very well then, but after a lot of thought I can understand it better today.

Sorry I am trying to understand more. I suspect this place isn't a good place to learn. Best to do it in person with other folks. I have been meaning to discuss these type of matters with others in person.

Wpipkins, I am sure you are a very good father. Very level headed which is evident here.

Actually, if you read my posts, I'm defending it, not bringing it up. You and some others are so obsessed with it that it obviously consumes most everything you do and how you look at people. Exactly why it will never go away.

While you'll never believe it, not all white people are racist and not all black people aren't.

No one here is saying that ALL white people are racist. I have never seen that written on the board.

The FACT is that you (and mostly just one or two other posters) have been called racist here on City Data, and it has been based upon specific things you've written. Don't try to hide behind "all white people". THAT is a strawman argument.
