Sounds like some type of prostitution or sexual exploitation gone very wrong. To be killed in that manner suggests some type of deep emotion. If this old man has a history of taking in young troubled men there was probably some type of exchange between the two. What could a 20 something young black man have in common with a 80 something year old white man? There is more to this story.

Race-baiting? Nope - just making some kind of tongue-in-cheek point after reading the endless bs in some threads about how there is SO MUCH RACISM out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S SO BAD! IT's HORRIBLE!!! MIDDLE-AGED WHITE MALES FROM UPPER INCOME BASTARDS!!!
What does racism have to do with murders in the inner city? You are confusing the two. To suggest that there is no racism in the US is absurd.

Wpip - the thread evolved. My comment, admittedly more out of frustration (so apologies for the nasty tone), was referring to the more recent line of discussion about racism - its existence, pervasiveness, etc.

Wpipkins, my comment was not intended to dwell on racism. I was remarking at the insanity of some recent high profile crimes in our areas. The mention about the sisters was about the two from Iowa that were murdered by a neighbor who was trusted in their East Liberty home.

Walking up and down Fox Chapel Road is an unpleasant experience.
You drive everywhere all the time. That is what you talk about often and complain about Pittsburgh drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. City dwellers drive constantly to shop and run errands and people in the burbs do as well.

I suspect there is much more racism towards white males than any other group. Just some food for thought.

Anyway, not sure how we got on a race subject. I thought this was about crime migration and if it is happening. I think the topic is interesting, but really sort of obvious. As more affluent people move into the city crime will drop. Go figure.

The homicide in February was a domestic dispute. I forget the specific relationship between the killer and the victim, but it was a mentally ill person who murdered their relative.

The double murder on Route 65 shouldn't really be attributed to any specific neighborhood. If two people got shot on 376 would you count it against Squirrel Hill or Greenfield?

It is not a street by street thing. The shooting outside of Zangaroo's last winter was the result of some interaction that started inside of the bar and moved to the street. That bar is and was a nuisance bar that has got to go. Well known drug bar, I can't figure out why it's still open, they must be connected. The rest of the BS we deal with is the traffic from Shadeland, they don't even live in BH, just come up to break into cars and steal people's loose change.
I agree with this. "Problematic" is a good way to word it since it's really not all that bad. I may or may not live in that problematic area depending on your definition and I don't fear for my or my wife's safety at all. I hope that the St. John's project will help that section of the neighborhood. They've already started working on it and it's taking shape more quickly than I expected.

As much as I was going on in the other thread about us not being that happy with BH lately, crime has not played a major factor in us holding that opinion.

You and I know it is true. What percentage of the black vote did Obama get? Why? Black people only look after black people. You know it and I know it. Most black people these days hate whitey because of the color of our skin. It just makes sense. We are the enemy. Nothing anyone can do about it. The media created this divide that wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. Personally, I don't care about any of it. Humans are humans. I am above all the crap out there, but I am the 1% that thinks that way. Enjoy BRO!
