Mike Huckabee: Would you take out a homeowners policy on a house that just burned down?... "That's why you can't provide Health Insurance for people with pre-existing conditions"...

Well let's look at the whole country 9.7% -so when do you think Obama is going to do SOMETHING? Even the MTV/BET kids are seeing it....just because the problem doesn't exist in your area doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist....

Again, I think you need to read the history of the subprime mortgage meltdown.

It started with the federal mandate during the Carter administration to Fannie and Freddie and was perpetuated to the collapse. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, both heavily financed by Freddie and Fannie, turned a blind eye to the crisis.

Perhaps those who cannot afford to own homes should not own homes. Perhaps the meddling of the feds in free markets is ill advised.
The peolple who should not own homes should not have been given those loans to begin with... That's on the lender who should not have made the loan in the first place...

you actually almost made sense here, though you are forgetting that the lenders were forced to make sub prime loans by the government, and community organizations like acorn. also the people that signed for loans they knew they could not afford also have culpability in this as well. you can not lay all of this on the lenders alone.
