So you would admit then that the Bush tax cuts and massive war spending created the huge mess Obama inherited...

Tax cuts do not create deficits but, extending tax breaks for the uber wealthy doesn't help them either.

considering that the deficit was going down when the democrats took over congress, i would say that the bush policies were in fact working.

that depends on how the tax cuts are used. if the economy is in poor shape, and there is a corresponding cut in regulations, then the economy is spurred on, and revenues to the government increase. if on the other hand, in a poor economy with a looming increase in regulations, and much uncertainty in the future, then the cuts are going to be saved for a future date when things shake out and the business owners know what is going on.

So why didn't the Bush deficit continue to go down?... Congress was lied to and approved spending... That's why...

Yes, greedy liberal.

OBAMA wants to raise your taxes, not the republicans. The republicans are advocating keeping taxes the same for EVERYONE, but Obama will not do it. Why? Class warfare. If we raised taxes to 100% (slavery) on those making more than $250K per year, it still would not eliminate the deficits Obama has rung up.

You want more and more of other people's money. Here is a radical idea. Instead of trying to take more of other people's money, why don't you work for your own? I know this sounds strange to someone who is a part of the "gimme" generation, who expects everything given to them, but it will restore some sense of self pride for you if you make your money and achieve your goals yourself.

Those who are constantly given something for nothing develop the same sense of ingraciousness that you are displaying and lack pride in themselves. They are essentially perpetual children who are coddled and cared for, thus lacking the ability to care for themselves and the confidence and pride that occurs as a result of self sufficiency.

Here is the bad news. Obama has broken the bank and will force EVERYONE to pay for the terrible fiscal mistakes he has made. EVERYONE will pay, not just the rich. That means YOU WILL PAY in one way or another. What will have to happen to correct Obama's mistakes?

1. Raise the social security age
2. Raise the medicare age
3. Cut benefits for social security
4. Eliminate social security benefits for cetain income groups
5. Cut medicare/medicaid benefits
6. VAT tax
7. Eliminate illegal immigration
8. Eliminate or cut federal pensions
9. Cut the military

Greedy liberals? Yes- they just want more and more and contribute little to anyone else. That is self absorbed greed. There is no more money- Obama blew it all. Get ready for austerity measures, as the liberal spending orgy is over. To do nothing achieves assured insolvency, then there will be ZERO entitlements.

really? for fiscal year 2006 the deficit was $160 billion, for fiscal year 2007 the deficit was $400 billion. what was the difference here? in fiscal year 2007 the democrats help the purse strings, not the republicans. the wars had been going on for years at that point, so how was congress lied to?

Actually obama during his campaign said he WILL RAISE TAXES must not have been paying attention! NOT the GOP.

It was discussed over and over!

Social Security President Bush wanted to Privitize Social Security. NOT TAKE it away!
The Liberals want our money they dont care that Social Security comes out of our paychecks and they use and borrow it for years. And then there are restrictions on how we get it when we get it and how much we can earn after we get it and it is OUR MONEY!!!!!!!
How many people dont even collect their Social Security that the Gov gets free and clear?

Obama never said taxes were going to be raised... The Republicans accused the Dems of raising taxes...

Privatizing Social Security is taking it away from the public...

There's a saying I once heard about democracy. Democracy is asking someone else to pay for what you want. The U.S. needs to get back to its roots as a republic if it is to survive. Both parties are equally guilty of bribing people with their own tax money and it has to cease if there's to be any hope.

What's the solution?...
