GE made $14 billion, but CEO Immelt cut employee salaries. Immelt himself reportedly makes over $900,000 annually. Sweet.
Then sweeter still, Obama appoints Immelt to his Jobs Council, while GE is sending thousands of jobs overseas. Is Obama blind, or just plain stupid? Who is Obama *really* working for? Not the U.S. by the looks of this.
GE says it didn’t pay federal taxes because it took hits for investment that the tax code allowss to to help job creation. Job creation overseas??
Even some liberals (MoveOn no less!) are calling for Immelt to be removed Liberals Press Obama to Dump GE CEO From Economic Panel - FoxNews.com
Maybe liberals should be outraged about GE being given such preferential treatment. That money could go a long way to feed poor kids don't you think?
Still blaming Republicans for starving the children? Better figure out where to place the blame for continued joblessness in this country.
Jim Jordan (OH)- Evangelical Christian? Really? Up for reelection 2012. Tea supported.
Tim Scott (SC)- Evangelical Christian? Really? Token black guy in SC is up for re election 2012. Tea installed.
Scott Garrett (NJ)-'Non-denominational/ Evangelical Christian? Really? Birther. Tea supported. Up for re election 2012.
Dan Burton (IN)- "Non-denominational/ Christian primitivism/ Christian Zionist? Really? Redistricted in 1980, he's kept that chair warm since being installed. Lots of inbreeding going on in Indiana it appears. His daughter is on payroll, and his brother takes up another chair in another district installed since 1988. Dan's last election boasted 30% support in primaries. He's is up for re election 2012.
Louie Gohmert (TX)- Southern Baptist? Really? 100% unopposed primaries, no contested democrat or libertarian running against him since he parked there post gerrymandering 2004. Tea supported. Up for reelection 2012.
Baloney. This progressive works about 60 hours a week, owns a small business and employees people. All of the progressives I know of working age are working.
Instead of parroting RushGlen, get analyze, think, read, and maybe you'll stop spouting vile hatred that really works against your own interests as a "working class hero."
Do you have any tax shelters?
Do you have write offs and exemptions?
Do you use an accountant at tax time to protect your interests against paying too much?
Are your employees unionized?
Are your company vehicles American made by UAW workers? How about your personal vehicles?
Conservative Logic: We can't afford to care for the children we have now, so let's force people to have more.
Fact: Ban abortion and the welfare rolls will increase substantially.
Fact: Abortion does not kill babies. Fetuses are not babies.
If you force people to have children they cannot afford, be prepared to pay the price.
I know you would like to let the children starve to punish their parents and teach them a lesson, but that is not going to happen in this country.
The highlighted line is the same argument the left used during the Roe vs. Wade fight.
It sure did cut the welfare rolls, didn't it?
As far as your point about "forcing" people to have children, BS!
DO NOT LIVE LIKE AN ANIMAL. Have some self control. You KNOW that contraceptives are not 100% effective. Practice the timing method, like some Christians do.
Personal responsibility is a foreign concept to the left. It is proven over and over again in this thread.
More proof that conservatism has become a doctrine of selfishness.
People are poor for many reasons. Some people become poor AFTER they have children. Here are some reasons that people become poor:
Death of spouse That's why they sell life insurance
Mental illness They should be helped Debilitating Physical Illness That's what insurance is for.
Long term Employer Shuts down Get another job.Nobody guarantees you a living.
Leaving a physically abusive relationship Family.
Loss of work due to Vehicular Accident Again, insurance.
and many more...
Over 50% of the country's poor are children who have no accountability for the situation they are in. For many, government benefits are the difference between eating and not eating. I am glad to have my tax dollars support such programs.
What happened to "Judge not, lest ye be judged?"
If you feel strongly about the poor becoming self sufficient-- Go out and volunteer to tutor, mentor or be a big brother/big sister. Volunteer at a school in a poor neighborhood. Join a literacy program and teach an illiterate adult to read. Volunteer to teach immigrants English...
To just sit here and judge the poor in the vilest language possible, says way more about you than it does the poor people you are indicting.

How many abortions are preformed each year? How many of those children would have ended up on welfare?
The welfare rolls would be a lot higher than they are now without abortion.
That is not rocket science.
So, just how do you force responsibility? YOUR idea of responsibility? Conservatives are against sex education in the schools. They are against Planned Parenthood, which educates and provides BC. {ya know, so people can be responsible}
How do you force hormone drivin teens to not behave like animals? Teach abstinence and religion? Timing? How did that work for the Palin's?
Cut social programs? Do you really think you are going to convince anyone that if they have a child they cannot afford, this country is going to allow that child to starve?
Do you think teens are thinking about how they are going to feed the child they may be creating?
There are solutions, but they are not solutions this society would ever allow.
He's a cookie cutter just like Sarah Palin. Installed to regurgitate talking points & tell select clients everything they want to hear. Not a single original thought in either of their heads.
Colin Powell was by a mile more qualified for the chair of president than Bush but he was treated as a token by morons (who oddly enough also have a nasty habit of inbreeding).

Which begs the question- why do you have a problem with a spade being called a spade when their actions and conduct are what I'm pointing at??? People being accountable for themselves is too much to ask? Yet you expect children least qualified to function in the world to be accountable for themselves when parents are falling down (for whatever reasons)? Hypocritical, immature, irresponsible adults are the biggest nemesis children could have. There is no difference between yourself and the parents you're trying to 'punish' through writ, emboldened with false doctrines meting out God's wrath through human hands. Looks like evil, quacks like evil...
