That was something that happened more in the post war era of the 1950s. I guess it still happens today but not to the extent that was seen 50-60 years.

Trust me. I have traveled to EVERY state except Alaska, and most of them many times over.

I don't see the racial tension that you see. Maybe you need to hang with a different crowd.

And I've been to Canada many times too. There is huge racial tension between the French Canadians and the non French Canadians.

That's a few decades out of touch in most areas.

Of course you won't see it. As a member of the majority population, it's easy to live in America without experiencing racism and its effects.

BTW the "tension" between French Canadians and non-French Canadians have nothing to do with race. It's more of a language and cultural divide based on the fact that one has France as its former colonial power and the other Britain. Nuff said.

Canada's pretty great, full disclaimer: I have Canadian citizenship haha. Good folks up there, I like their drinking age but it's a bit too nippy for me.

I know there is white flight around the nation, and I don't deny that racism still exists. At the same time, there are many gatherings in my neighborhood where we all get together and there is no tension like you speak of. My kids play alongside black and hispanic kids freely. Perhaps it is because at this point we have done so for many, many years here. And before you bring it up, yes, I have black friends.
