Today, record numbers of Americans are unemployed and have no where to go to find jobs.

Presently, the republican's desire to throw around their power has already caused more damage than good to our economy.

Because of their current charade, the stock market is down.

In addition, their unrealistic demands to balance the budget have caused other countries -- our creditors -- to look at us and reconsider our credit worthiness.
Economists have said that this will certainly change our "A" credit rating... and that will have an immediate effect upon all of us.

Republicans have been yelling and screaming, insisting that raising taxes on the wealthy will effect job creation. But this stand off has done more to instill fear in businesses and destroy the potential for job creation in the future than any tax increase ever would.

They may be well meaning but they are short sighted - as usual.

How can anyone support these morons?
it is no wonder our country is in serious trouble.

the same people who pushed the fear mongering with the bankster/wall street bailout, then with the GM/chrysler bailouts, are now pushing the fear mongering with the debt ceiling. (bailout)

the same suckers fall for the same line every time-DO IT OR ELSE WE BLOW UP THE ECONOMY!

evidently you can fool the same people all of the time.....

there is no integrity in wall street or in congress anymore. they just want more money to spend and give their friends, and they don't even care how they get it and whose backs they get it on....

We have a Democrat President, Democrat controlled Senate and a Republican controlled House. No one is going to get everything they want and everyone is going to have to compromise for the good of the country. Grover Norquist be damned.
Well said!

Career politicians in DC of both parties get very frustrated when they're forced to divert from the "politics-as-usual" approach they've been practicing for decades. McCain IS a hobbit, by the way.

So why don't "responsible" Republicans join with "responsible" Democrats and get us a sensible bipartisan solution?
Because those in Congress on both sides of the aisle who could legitimately be termed 'responsible' are probably a minority?

McCain has this irrational need to be loved by the media. Didn't he learn his lesson when they turned on him during the presidential election in 2008? He has always been a POS but now he shows he's a moron as well. The sooner this guy retires and allows a real Republican to take his seat the better. RINO.

Tea Party:

You guys may have some good ideas, but this is not the time to risk the welfare of the nation by trying to commit political and economic extortion.

Also, you're screwing your fellow Republicans' chances of getting re-elected.

That would be all Obama's fault. He's the leader he's going to be responsible for the outcome of the negotiations. Also we don't need those RINO Republicans anywhere.

Without reading even one reply I bet it will not take longbefore McCain is called RINO. They eat their own when they dare disagree with the current mantra.

JMO but I think McCain is a nut case, I wouldn't pay any attention to what he says. The last election was a tell all about him.
