I wish I could be as empathetic and understanding as all of you. How ever do you do it?

Some of you must have such miserable lives. Get a hobby or something. It will be much more fun than sitting around thinking of threads to start about the how poor people are evil and lazy, how everyone takes advantage of welfare, how the world is overpopulated and people should stop having kids, etc. I don't understand how some of you live with the stress this seems to cause you. It's the same song day after day.

I am sympathetic to the working poor (lower middle class) folk who are trying. I know a few who were doing much better financially a few years ago and are now un/underemployed and having a tough time with bills, these are hard working people (teachers, tradesman, etc) who just can't find steady work.

Why post things like this? Does it make you feel good about yourself? What kind of lonely misanthrope needs to make themselves feel superior to poor people who want affordable childcare?

Affordable for the poor? Just how little should daycare workers be paid to care for our "most important resource"?

Exactly. The lack of mercy for the poor here is astounding. Especially when they're working or trying to find work (which somebody using childcare obviously is).

The poor have just as much of a right to "breed" as the rich do. If the poor never had any children history would be missing many great inventors, artists, and leaders, and we would be much worse off for it.

A poor single mother of two whose boyfriend has abandoned her and who repented of her sin of fornication is much more morally upright than a wealthy couple who divorced and re-married several times.

so people shouldn't be allowed to have sex without earning over 100K a year?

I bet the OP and others have never grumbled about the price of gas. after all, if ya can't afford the price of gas, stop driving.

Hey, it isn't just the poor. Our granddaughter was telling me the other night how high child care is for her 4 year old and when she starts K next year the price doesn't go down.

Why stop there? If you're poor and food costs too much, just stop eating. No one's forcing you to require that USDA of vitamins and minerals, quit making it a necessity to function.

You need food to live so I can support some form of government aid like food stamps. Having children is not a necessity. If the poor stopped having kids in this country, poverty would be mostly eliminated in one to two generations.
